3-Anilinopropyltrimethoxysilane (also known as N-Phenyl-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, CAS 3068-76-6) is an organosilane compound with an aromatic secondary amine. It appears as a clear, colorless to yellowish liquid. As a silane coupling agent, its trimethoxysilyl group hydrolyzes to form durable bonds with inorganic surfaces like glass and metals, while its secondary amino group reacts with organic resins. The N-phenyl group provides excellent high-temperature and chemical resistance, making it superior to standard aminosilanes. It is used as an adhesion promoter in coatings, sealants, adhesives, and composite materials, particularly for epoxy, polyurethane, phenolic, and acrylic systems.
