Glycidyl POSS is a hybrid organic–inorganic nanomaterial featuring an inorganic silsesquioxane cage core with reactive glycidyl groups attached to its corners. This epoxy-functional POSS exhibits a clear viscous liquid form with high thermal stability and excellent compatibility with epoxy, urethane and acrylic resins. It serves as an effective crosslinker, rheology modifier and adhesion promoter for coatings, adhesives and composites. The nano-scale cage structure reduces curing shrinkage, improves toughness and heat resistance, and enhances mechanical properties in polymer systems at low loading levels.
